Show V : , vi ' r V ( i - ' ' " '"l ? ..; ' ' - Pleasant Grove High School's Chamber Choir rehearses for the annual A Cappella Capades, which will be presented Monday and Tuesday nights in the auditorium. Annual A Cappella Capades slated with music, humor and dance at PGHS The eleventh annual Pleasant Grove High School A Cappella ' Capades will be presented by the Choral Music Dept. on Monday and ' Tuesday,Dec.7and8,at7:30p.m.in 1 the high school auditorium . The program will feature the A i' Cappella Choir, Chamber Choir, Mixed Chorus, Cloggers West and Rustic Rhythm Cloggers. In addition to the beautiful Christmas music there will be plenty of humor, a quality for which this show has become known. ' The A Cappella Choir will sing "We Need A Little Christmas" (this year's theme), "Away In A Manger," and selections from Handel's "Messiah," including "And the Glory of the Lord," For Unto Us a Child Is Born," and the always popular "Hallelujah Chorus." In addition, the choir will feature the traditional sing-along which includes several old favorites. The Chamber Choir will perform "The Night Before Christmas," "He is Born," "Bring a Torch, Jeannette Isabella," and "Night of All Nights." The Mixed Chorus will sing "Sleigh Ride," "Calypso Noel," and "Carols Around and Around." The Cloggers West Company will perform per-form "Shukin' Corn," "Foggy Mountain -Breakdown," and the' "Orange Blossom Special." A special feature this year will be a Santa quartet on four pianos. Acoompanists are Janilyn Patch, Heidi Henriksen, David Hewitt, Angela Humble, Floris Olsen, Jennifer Pack, and Shelley Flinders. Stage decorations are being handled by Tami Thurgood, Amy Madsen, Lori Smith, Toni Trinnaman and Paige Atkin. A large stage crew is being employed for the technical aspects of the show. James Phillips will be foreman of this crew. The PGHS PTA has graciously donated a large tree for the stage. Choral risers have been furnished and made available by Robert Patch. Ticket prices for the show are $2 fop adults,' $1 for children under 12, or $7 for families. Tickets can be purchased at the door. However, tickets purchased directly from members of the A Capapella Choir or Cloggers West go directly to the students' tour in the spring. |
