I' I The Utah Pageant of the Arts Symphony Orchestra is proud to present violinist David Honey as soloist for their Season Opening Concert, to be held Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Junior High School Auditorium. Admission is free and everyone is cordially invited to attend. Honey began his studies in Garden Grove, Calif, with Marianne Acosta at the age of nine. While still in high school, he completed his training at California State Fullerton with Kenneth Goldsmith, presently violinist of the Mirecourt Trio. He is a perennial student of the performance history and technique of the violin, and is currently writing a monograph on the famed Russian violinist Nathan Milstein. Honey plays on a modern violin crafted in Long Beach by Afredo Galea. He is currently employed at BYU in the Asian and near Eastern Languages department, where he teaches Mandarin and Cantonese. He is married to Patricia Ann Quinn and is the father of four children. He will finish his Ph.D. from the University of California in Berkeley in November. The public is welcome. Members of the Artists' Section will exhibit their original paintings and also offer 5 by 7 inch paintings for sale as a fund raiser for this non-profit organization. Nina Schumann, Lehi artist, will be honored at the tea for her ac-complishments and for her constant encouragement and help to others to progress in art and to exhibit their work.
