Coach Darold Henry is optimistic about this year's wrestling squad. If numbers mean anything, he should be, as the wrestling balcony was literally covered with enthusiastic candidates who want to be part of the defending state wrestling ";' team."' Henry "' has two returning state champions and several wrestlers who earned points in last year's championship effort. At least one "move-in,- " Randy Hallam, might give the Vikes another tough wrestler in the lower weights. Team ranking matches will be November 21. Winter must be here because tryouts for basketball and wrestling are in full swing at Pleasant Grove High School. Coach Keith Allred and his assistants, Alan Bahr and Bruce Bushnell, welcomed more than 50 players to the first day of basketball tryouts. "We didn't see any totally new talent, but we think that we will have a competitive team with the players returning from last year," said Allred. In the girls' gym, Coach Marie Bone was putting at least 40 potential players through a workout. The fluids we drink replenish water that is lost from the body in per-spiration, during respiration, and in the urine. Physicians frequently recommend the drinking of additional amounts of water in the presence of certain health problems such as urinary tract infections and urinary tract stones. Constipation may be prevented or relieved if ad-ditional water is included in the diet. The use of certain prescription medicines also calls for extra water consumption. The sulfonamide antiinfective agents, for example, are safer when taken with large amounts of water. Waters helps prevent sulfonamide crystals from forming in the urinary tract and damaging the structures within the kidneys. Water dilutes medicines and helps prevent or reduce irritation to the gastrointestinal tract. Most potassium chloride solutions, for example, taste better and cause less stomach upset when taken with water. And water also helps prevent capsules or tablets from becoming lodged in the esophagus - a special problem in small children and older adults. Do your Christmas shopping early at discount prices!
