Show Clean up and prevent home fires Pluggy says "Clean up. . . for fire safety." This is the basically important reason for the Spring Clean Up campaign which starts in Pleasant Grove May 4 through May 11. "Fires in U.S. homes are taking about 6,600 lives yearly, according to National Fire Protection Association figures." And one of the mayor causes of dwelling fires is rubbish and trash. One American home is destroyed or damaged by fire starting in rubbish every 12 minutes, these same NFPA statistics show. So our goal for Spring Clean Up is to make every home in this community com-munity safer from fire. This means a concentrated attack on the spots in and around houses where fires start - accumulations in attics, basements, and closets, and any place there is trash and rubbish. Clean up does many things for the community, but, perhaps the most important accomplishment of all is that it will make the homes in Pleasant Grove safer from fire," the fire department said. Spring clean up is sponsored internationally by the National Fire Protection Association to promote fire safety throughout the United States and Canada. |
