Show Women's outreach program slated Women are increasingly finding themselves as the sole providers for their families. Some are divorced, others widowed, and still others have husbands who are disabled or unemployed for some other reason. Whatever the cause, the problem of providing both monetary and psychological support to a family has been a difficult challenge for thousands of women from every , corner of our country and segment of society. There are many forces that tug and tear at women today. Some women staunchly defend their traditional roles while others are discontent with their lot. Many women, without rejecting the value of home and family, either find the need or have the desire to widen their spectrum of possibilities. Often economic need is the catalyst that takes the woman from the home to the work place. Some women, through death, divorce, or separation find that they are on their own when they least expect it. They often feel totally unprepared to tackle the obstacles they face. Others work to meet growing economic or personal needs. Whatever the reason, women are changing the workforce. Utah Technical College has .designed a self-sufficiency program to help women move into the work force. This course is designed to teach women assertive communication com-munication skills and job career training. This is an out-reach , program to build confidence, self-esteem self-esteem and eliminate the fears of becoming self-sufficient.
