American Young Mother fin? Year for 1982. La Dawn accompanied by three of k daughters Amy, age u I If age 13 and Elizabeth, age n La Dawn related events L i early life. She talked about grandmothers. She said "Th only left me a genealogy of 2H but a genealogy of fS emotions." Her family alway and approached life cheerfulness and gratitude J? has used this philosophy in her little ones, eight in all La Dawn strongly feels' it j. responsibility of the mother to! the tone of learning in the homT fuerl me1berhoLuld increaa their knowledge day by day qZ the ways this is accomplished J her family is the "FaJ Devotional." Each u. morning they start the day with hymn, a scripture and a pom T&ese are all memorized. TWlj demonstrated this by reciting in unison some simple poems tt learned while young. TheyrraW "Hands", "Smiles" and 'TobaS They then recited in unison tf great poems, "I Think The hi Not Taken" by Robert Frost and "If by Rudyard Kipling. La Dam said, "Great thoughts fill your ft and bless it forever." The girls shared their musical talent. Amy played the violin, Emily the cello and Elizabeth tfe violin with their mAs accompaning them on the piaa They played a "Sound Of Must Melody" and Emily played a cello solo, "Nina." They sang the songs "Sisters", "Turn Around" and '111 Never Met You." The girls thu played and sang, "Love Is Spoken' ' "Isn't This A Beautiful Place To Be" and "Glad You Invited Ui Here." While singing this lastsoig they shook the hands of tin Cadmus members. This wasi special gesture. Two new members, M Peterson and Joyce Sumner, wets welcomed into Cadmus. Paulett Oveson, Maymetta's daughter, was a guest. Delicious refreshmenli were served to the 29 present Hostesses were Maymetta, Ina Page and Fay Belliston. |
