Some of these goals includes the minimum high density housing with half-acr- e lots, financial planning and responsible leadership, and the helping to create an atmosphere of cooperation between the council and citizens toward improving the present rural lifestyle. Walker is a graduate of the University of Utah, with a B.S. in accounting and business management. He was an auditor for Kennecott for several years, and is now employed by Walker Oil com-pany in Pleasant Grove. an ana gradual from Grantsville High School. He received n a BS degree history, secondary education, and psychology from USU in 1966. He did graduate work at BYU in classical languages from 1975-7- 7 He is married to 11a Anderson, and they are the parents of 12 children. He grew up ln a small rural town in Utah and really enjoy the rural en-vironment, but dislikes being isolated . trom the advantages of a city Johanson said that the advantages are the shopping, doctors, cultural and recreational activities, and a broader education for his children This is why he likes Lindon with its unique setting. He feels it has the rural environment he likes so much, but is nearer the advantages of a city.' Johanson said that he represents no special interest groups, and doesn't have any personal advantages to gain from being a councilman. "Therefore, I feel I can represent the majority of the people of Lindon," he observed. Johanson believes in fiscal restraint, and in a balanced budget while providing the services needed by the citizens. Ray Brown City Council I Ray Brown has been a. resident i lindon for the past eighteen years, "d jS employed at Geneva Steel (here he has served a machinist apprenticeship. grown believes in orderly growth, lot not at the expense of the taxp-ayers. He thinks growth should be and steady by following a jsterplan. He will strive for good communication between the public and city officials, and maintaining lindon's rural atmosphere. Virgil Walker City Council Virgil Walker of Lindon, as can-didate for the council, said that he ' "feels that the citizens of Lindon are highly motivated toward good government and the election of dedicated, qualified represen-tatives." Hill, as a candidate for Lindon city council, would, "like to see Lindon keep the rural atmosphere and have good communication bet-ween the people and the council." A graduate of Orem High School, Hill furthered his education with six years of night school at Utah Technical College. He has been an electrician on construction for 20 years, and has been foreman and ran the jobs he has been on for the past six years. William C.
