Funeral Rites Held on Monday for Rex Farley Rex Albert Farley, 62, of Pleasant Grove, died at his home on Thursday, Sept. 27, 1979 of natural causes. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary, under the direction of Bishop Robert Davis of the Pleasant Grove Fourth Ward. Speaker at the ser-vices was Earl Farley, and a tribute was given by Ron Farley. Musical numbers were given by Jim Jones, who sang two vocal solos. Prayers were given by Earl Farley, Robert Chapman, and James D. Bishop, and the grave in the Orem City Cemetery was dedicated by Mike Phillips. Pallbearers were Den-nis Arnold, Vincent Ar-nold, Robert Nicholes, Gary Hazel, Reed Ward. He had worked in the CCC Camps dur-ing the depression and later in the aircraft in-dustry. He retired from Geneva Works in 1977. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Pleasant Grove. Survivors include two sons and four daughters, Mrs. Vern (Marie) Nicholes and Janet Butler, both of American Fork, Mrs. Lewis (LouAnn) Ar-nold, Helper; Mrs. Clif-ton (Darlene) Hazel, Heber City; sWilliam R. Farley, Orem; Curtis Albert Farley, Spring Lake, N.C 26 grand-children, three great grandchildren and three brothers and one sister, Blaine Farley and Mrs. Maybelle Chapman, both of Orem, Roy Farley, American Fork and Earl Farley, Castle Dale. Butler and Ted Petroff. Rex Albert Farley was born Feb. 19, 1917 in Wallsburg, to For-rest Dell and Annie Mecham Farley. He married Annie Foncet Jensen on June 27, 1940 in Provo. She died April 13, 1962. He was a member of the LDS Church in the Pleasant Grove 15th Funeral Services Held For Wallace V. Beck Funeral services for Wallace Vance Beck, 48, who died at the American Fork Hospital on Friday, Sept. 28, 1979 of a heart ailment, were held on Monday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Eighth Ward Chapel, under the direc-tion of Bishop Harvey Hatch. Speakers at the ser-vices were Donald Beck and Eleroy H. West, and a life sketch and remarks were also given by Bishop Hatch. Musical numbers were sung by a vocal trio, Alice Myers, Beverly Christeson and Nora Larson, accom-panied by Irene Jenkins, and a vocal solo by Alice Myers. Terry and Irene Jenkins played a piano-orga- n duet. Prayers were given by Keith Beck, Carl Parry, and Don Crump, and the grave in the Alpine City Cemetery was dedicated by Kayle Bullock. Pallbearers were Rodney K. Bryer, Ronald Moon, Ricky and Brent Steedman, Darrell Bullock, Mike Roberts, Tom Trin-nama- n and Max Powell. Wallace Vance Beck was born Aug. 7, 1931 in Alpine, a son of Owen and Maude Cox Beck. He married Don-na Larsen on Sept. 4, 1953, in Bluffdale, and the marriage was solemnized later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was active in the LDS Church, in the Pleasant Grove Eighth Ward and was assistant ward clerk at the time of his death. He attended Alpine and American Fork schools and Utah Technical College. Mr. Beck was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was an employee of Geneva Steel. Survivors include his wife, two sons and two daughters, Gary Owen Beck, Lehi; Kevin L. and Sandra Lynn Beck, both of Pleasant Grove' Mrs. Rodney (DeeAnn) Fryer, Lindon; his mother, Alpine and a sister, Mrs. Kayle (Cleon) Bullock, Plea-sant Grove. f """""""'i P.TA COLUMBUS DAY ACTIVITIES Miss Osterhout 's 1st grade class is preparing for Columbus Day activities at Valley View Elementary. Funeral Rites Today for Young Child Funeral services for William Russell Ring-ger- , 3'2 month old son of Mark and Jill Ring-ge-r will be held Thurs-day, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. in the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Red-wood Rd. Viewing will be 12 hour before the ser-vices. Survivors include his parents, brothers and sisters, Nathan, Elise and Benjamin, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ringger of Pleasant Grove and Mr. and Mrs. Paul H. Taylor of Orem. Membership Drive at Valley View Loretta Roper has conducted a successful membership drive for the PTA at Valley View School. This year many fathers have joined and this makes the PTA of-ficers feel that their drive has been suc-cessful. The membership drive will continue for the remainder of this week and PTA officers would like to encourage all who have not joined to send in their $1.00 per person membership to school with your child. The PTA is giving gifts of a game, a book or educational aid to every class for each 10 memberships it has. The teachers and students will choose what they would like. A food chain store is also giving a coupon for free fries for every membership brought in. Real Estate Class to Start Alpine school district announces the beginn-ing of an Adult Voca-tional e Real Estate Sales Class taught by Mrs. Evelyn Johnson. The class will begin Tuesday, October 8 at 7 p.m. in Room C 15 of Orem High School. It will run for three hours each Tues-day evening for a period of 10 weeks. The enroll-ment fee is $30.00. This course will help prepare individuals to pass the State Real Estate examiniation. Interested students may register the first evening of the class. The truck may have large mirrors. The Lindon Police Department telephone number is 785-504- Lindon Police Chief LaMar Jolley has issued a plea for citizens in the county to help locate a vehicle which may have been involved in the fatal hit and run accident Tues-day in Lindon. The accident took place on U.S. Highway 89 at about 40th South roughly at 8:40 p.m. Killed in the accident was Joseph Melvin Talbot, 17. The Lindon Police Dedpartment has nar-rowed the suspect vehicles to approx-imately 100 and feel that it is just a matter of time before the suspect is apprehended if the vehicle has been registered within the State of Utah. The suspect vehicle is likely to be a late model GMC pickup truck or GMC Jimmy. It might be red or burnt orange in color with perhaps a white top. Damage sus-tained in the accident likely will show damage to the gril on the right side. The headlight on the right side will also have sustained damage. There is evidence the FBLA to Install Officers Tonight The Officer Installa-tion and member initia-tion ceremony for the Pleasant Grove Chapter of FBLA will be held tonight, Thurs-day, Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school dance studio. The special guest speaker will be Jeff Lar-son from Brigham City, who received the title of National Mr. FBLA at the national leadership conference held in New Orleans last July. Jeff will tell about his ex-periences with FBLA and what he hopes to accomplish in the business world. Other special guests will include honorary members Vera Conder, Max Shifrer, Mark Bez-zan- t, Wayne Cornaby, and Mr. and Mrs. James D. Harvey. Utah State Chapter president Robin Riddle, will also be present.
