Show THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4, 1979 m PLEASANT GROVE OCTOBER 4, 1979 REVIEW, PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH THURSDAY, Cadmus Club Has 1 st Meeting of Year Cadmus Club members had their first meeting for the 1979 and 1980 year at the lovely new home of Glenna Oveson on September 26 at 7:30 p.m. President June Mon-so-conducted and Lucille Jense gave the opening prayer. The theme for the year was introduced "The Free Spirit." Catherine Rees of the Education committee introduced the guest speaker Richard Bird. Mr. Bird is a councilor at Hill Crest High School as well as a Bishop, major in the Army reserve, husband and father. He talked to the sub-ject of the theme "The Free Spirit and Her Positivie Attutude". The meeting was both informative and in-teresting. He told the group many things that he said could change their lives such as, Throw out the old pre judiced, too many of us have a poor concept of ourselves and we operate according to that concept. Respect and like yourself, there is not another you. Too many are always living in the future but we live in the here and now and for 24 hours a day you are in your own world. Some people live in a garbage heap others live in a beautiful world. Life is as you see it not as it is. Attutude is the key to our life, "how do you see it?" It is in the eye of the beholder. All members felt that the evening was of great benefit to all. Refreshments were served to 20 members and guests Frances Crawford and Flora Dunn. Servicemen's Addresses Wanted by BYU Office Names and addresses of Mormon service men and women who will be away from home at Christmas time are be-ing sought by the Womens Office at BYU so that packages of goodies and letters can be mailed in time for the holidays. Denise Tucker, chair-man of Project Uplife and a graduate student in audiology from Lyunchburg, Va. said that anyone having a current address of an LDS Church service man or woman should get the name, address and marital status to the Womens Office by Oct 19. The address to sent the information is 432 Wilkinson Center, BYU, Provo, Utah 84602. Last year the Project Uplife, more than 500 boxes of cookies and other goodies were mailed for the holidays. Mo'st packages includ-ed letters. "This year, the pro-ject will encourage cam-pus clubs, wards and in-dividuals to send dried fruit and nuts in the package with an accom-panying letter," Miss Tucker said. "Of course, if the sender wants, to bake cookies, that alternative is open." She pointed out that the Oct 19 deadline is necessary so that pro-ject participants can get the packages ready and in the mail by November 14. Names and addresses submitted to the Womens Office will be distributed so that the packages can be prepared and taken to the office for mailing. "We're emphasizing the dried fruit and nuts because they may be lighter in weight and have more nutritional value than cookies," Miss Tucker said.
