Eagles Go Undefeated to Claim Crown by Jeff Jackson The Little League Eagles went through the season undefeated as they beat last year's league champs, the American Fork Colts, 19-- 6 last Saturday. Totally dominating the game from the opening kickoff, the Eagles drove 60 yards with Brian Biggs hit-ting pay dirt. By con-verting the PAT the Eagles led 7-- A Colt comeback was stopped by a tough Eagle defense that for-ced the Colts to punt the ball away most of the game. Biggs scored again in the second quarter on a six-yar- d scamper up the middle and the half en-ded 13-- 0 for the Eagles. Both teams came out fired up to start the second half but the Eagles held. With Mikay Robinson, Biggs and Jason Allred of-fering an effective run-ning game, the Eagles got on the score board again with Allred carrying it on a Q.B. keeper around right end. Robinson cut short a Colt drive with an in-terception but late in the game the Colts blocked an Eagle punt to set up their only T.D. The final score by the Colts made it 19-- 6 for the Eagles. Flag Football On The 1978 Flag Foot-ball season has resulted in many action filled Saturday mornings for the boys in the 4th-6t- h grades. League director Dell Young reports some really excellent ball games as the boys play their games at the Sr. High School foot-ball field. Coach Young is assisted by Carl Christensen of the BYU Jr. Varsity, along with a number of the local Sr. High varsity foot-ball players, acting as referees and coaches. As the season is drawing to a close, a very close league race has developed in the 4th grade with 3 teams tied for 1st place. The 5th and 6th grades would appear to have clearcut winners, but as past experience has shown, no team is a sure bet to win. In last year's round-robi- n year end tour-nament, some surprises were evident, as teams finishing last in league play, with no wins, came back and won the tourneys. Director Young in-vites all parents to support their boys in the remaining seasons play. The boys will take this Saturday off for Deer hunting and will resume again the following week.
