Show THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13, 1977 PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW, PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH THURSDAY. OCTOBER 13, 1977 Springville Tomorrow ... Defense Shines in Lelii Game Lost Weeli ministrators with a night-mare. Spanish Fork seems to be in the drivers seat right now with a 5-- 0 record. However, the status of their great running back, Cliff Christensen is in doubt after an injury in the AF game. Coach Kelly feels that if his team can win two of the last three games the Vikings will have an excellent chance at a play-of- f spot. A big crowd is expected tomorrow to give the Vikes the boost needed to win over Springville. In a mid-wee- non-leagu- e contest, the Pleasant Grove Vikings bested in district rivals Lehi, 14-3- . Greg Johnson, Viking wide receiver accounted for all of PG's points on two pass receptions from QB Gary Moosman. Johnson also kicked both p.a.t's: The speedy flanker pulled down touchdown passes of 38 and 22 yards in leading the team over the Pioneers. SPRINGVILLE HERE Tomorrows 3:00 p.m. home game against the Springville Red Devils looks to be a great one. The Devils have a fine running back and are solid on defense. Springville lost to Timpview by four points while the Vikes fell to the same team by eight. However, PG beat AF while the Devils were soundly defeated by the Cavemen. PLAY-OFF- S With just three games remaining, the state play-of- f situation is still very much undecided. It is possible for five teams to tie for first place which would provide the ad- - .If , ", V - v " t '1' - I i I J, r t, .. ... : ) v. , H - ALL POINTS Greg Johnson scored all 14 points in Lehi win. He gives deep pass threat. Coach Bill Kelly was pleased with the overall team performance, saying, "it's almost impossible to be 'up' for every game." He went on to say that the defensive team played very well but the of-fense sputtered. However, this was a good game to sput-ter on because the next three are big ones. SACKS Q.B. Mark Atwood wears No. 73 and plays tackle for Vikings. He "sacked" Lehi's Q.B. several times and will be counted on to get to Springville passer. Also finishing with a 4-- 3 record were the Vikings coached by J.R.Smith, Gary Smith and Dr. Arden Kitchen. The Vikings and the Eagles met Wednesday night but af-ter our press time. The Lindon Steelers went through a building year, having to recruit several seventh graders in order to field a team. They were coached by Bob Rothwell and Lynn Andeerson.
