Show PI. Grove Jr. High PTA Has Plans Kiade for Coming School Year Pleasant Grove held its first meeting for the preparation and planning of benefits concerning concern-ing students in this age group. Jane Ivie, president, C. Don Crump, principal and second vice president and seven members mem-bers of the PTA board made plans for the coming year. Sept. 26 a home room mother's moth-er's Tea will start the year off with the first of many good things to come. A list of TV stations and their presidents will be provided for parents in the event they would like to write and voice an opinion concerning con-cerning programs put on the air for the youth. Addresses to write to will be furnished. Parents visiting day will be Nov. 9 and all parents are urged urg-ed come and get acquainted with the people involved in the academic side of their children's child-ren's education. The annual fund raising dance is planned for a date close to Halloween, October 26. The funds are used for the student's stu-dent's advancement, usually as a cash gift to the department needing it a bit more than another. an-other. Last year the music department de-partment received the PTA's attention. Of special interest this year in the Jr. High, 85 percent of the students are taking hot lunch. The fall of 1975 the new Jr. High will be completed and ready for students from 6th thru 9th grade to continue their progress in Jr. High. Any parent wanting to learn better ways of child raising will have the opportunity with the PARENTING class offered and sponsored by Utah's Young Mother's PTA - Community Schools and involved cities. Our closest involved city would have its instruction in Orem. Dr. Cahoon will take the responsibility re-sponsibility and opportunity to enlighten parents in this particular par-ticular area. The workshops are to run for a ten week period. They will be completed by ThanksRiving. The registration fee is $5.00. |
