Show THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18, 1969 PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW, PLEASANT GROvj UTAH THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18, 1969 Boyd Andersons Attend Farm Bureau Meeting Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Ander-son of Pleasant Grove were among more than 6,000 in at-tendance at the Golden Ann-iversary Convention in Wash-ington, D.C. recently, celebra-ting the 50th year of the Ameri-can Farm Bureau Federation. Around 12 couples were pres-ent with the Andersons from Utah County. The Farm Bureau members heard top agriculture depart-ment officials, who addressed them on problems concerning agriculture and farming. Funeral Services Held Last Friday For Clifton Harper Funeral services in memory of Clifton H. Harper, 81, were held Friday, Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. in the Timpanogos Stake House under the direction of Bishop Mack Palmer of the. LDS Grove Ward. Mr. Harper died Dec. 9, 1969 in a Provo hospital of causes incident to age. Speakers, who told of the long, kindly and purposeful life of the deceased were Bishop David C. Harvey and Joseph Olpin. Bishop Palmer closed with fitting remarks. Jeanne Walker and JoAnne Brady sang '.'In the Garden" and William E. Petersen favor-ed with a solo, "Silver Haired Daddy of Mine." Dorothy More-hea- d accompanied the singers and also played the prelude and postlude. Family prayer, the invoca-tion and the benediction were offered by Charles A. Harper, Arvel Anderson and Harold Baird, in that order. Pallbearers were Jeffrey An derson, Ray Baird, Michael Harper, Jerry Harper, Bruce Harper, and Mark Baird. Hon-orary pallbearers were Stuart Anderson, Alan Baird, Kelly Harper, Terry Harper, Curtis Harper, Clayton Harper, Kevin Harper, and Jared Harper. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery where Boyd C. Harper dedicated the grave. Funeral Rites for Gladys Friant Held on Dec. 13 Funeral Services in memory of Gladys C. Friant, 53, were held Saturday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manila Ward Chapel, under the direc-tion of Bishop David C. Har-vey of the Manila Ward. Mrs. Friant died December 10, 1969, in a Salt Lake hospi-tal of natural causes. The speaker, who told of the useful and purposeful life of the deceased, was Mrs. Harold Bullock. A eulogy was read by Mrs. Robert Hold-awa- y and Bishop Harvey closed with remarks of solace and sympathy. Nancy Ekins favored with two vocal solos, "I'll Forget You, When," and "You'll Never Walk Alone," accompan-ied by Lucy Haycock, who also played the prelude and post-lude. Family prayer was led by Rex Friant, Robert Eckles ask-ed the invocation and bene-diction was pronounced by Earl Matthews. Pallbearers were Ernest Thayne, Max Wake, Morris Duke, Robert Davis, Harold Bullock and Robert Holdaway. Flowers were cared for and arranged by the Manila Ward Relief Society. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, where the grave was dedicated by Harold Bullock. Mrs. Friant was bom Dec. 18, 1915, in Miami, Okla., to Harry F. and Grace Bush Craig. Married to Wayne Friant, March 11, 1940, Provo. Nurse, Utah State Training School, American Fork, nine years. Member LDS Church. Survivors: husband, sons and daughters, Rex, El Paso, Tex., Kent , American Fork; Mrs. Rodney (Kim) Wake, Pleasant Grove; grandchild; father, Montrose, Colorado. Jehovah's Witnesses ay Convention Slated for Price Jehovah's Witnesses of the American Fork congregation will soon be attending their circuit convention in Price scheduled for Dec. 19 to 21. Orville Welden, presiding minister, said the convention theme will be "Right Kind of Ministers." Friday evening's program, to be held in the Price Municipal Building, will highlight one of the weekly meetings of Jehovah's Witnes-ses. On Saturday morning there will be a talk on "Dedication and Baptism" after which there will be baptismal ser-vices. The climax of the Bible edu-cational program will be on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. when Floyd F. Garrett, spec-ial traveling representative for the Watchtower Society, Brook-lyn, New York, delivers the address '"True Woship Versus the False."
