Show Vikings Off to Slow Start in Pre-Season Basketball Games In the Morgan game, Randy Robinson showed up fairly well with 18 points, while Brian Engh and Jerry Harper had 11 and 9 points respectively. by Jan Carter Viking Sportswriter With the first game of the regular season on Jan. 9, the Viking basketball team has gotten off to a slow start. They are winless so far this year in pre-season play. Last week they lost to Morgan, Mor-gan, 61-51 and on last Saturday night they lost to a strong Roy High School team, 90-45. In earlier games in the season sea-son they lost to Heber, North Summit, Bingham, Cyprus and Granger. Coaches Jack Hill and Keith Allred report that their material ma-terial this year seems to be fairly good, but that they seem unable to get a winning combination com-bination together. Perhaps by league play time, Jan. 9, with Spanish Fork, the boys will be ready to go and perhaps give a better account of themselves in regular league play. |
