Show tilir Bringing home the bacon Steve Castoldi (left), Mike Runge and their porky pal will get the bids rolling in the Main Gallery of the Kimball Art Center Saturday night, Nov. 9. The occasion is the Kimball's 7th annual art auction, its only fundraising event. Castoldi, marketing director for the University of Utah, and Runge, Salt Lake City's KALL Radio personality, will swing the auctioneer's gavel for artwork and crafts collected in the Kimball's storeroom since last August and donated by Park City Art Festival artists, the Park City Gallery Association and others. A silent auction will begin at 6 p.m. and items ranging in price from expensive to not-so-costiy will be raffled. An open bar and hot hors d'oeuvres are on the menu, along with appetizing art to be sold during the live auction, beginning at 7:30 p.m. It includes a diamond-studded heart on a chain fashioned by Dick Doty; an oil painting by Richard Murray of Salt Lake City; a rose quartz ring in a 14-karat gold setting; a water color of the Miners Hospital Library by Nancy Tikker; and pottery, a stained-glass lamp and terrarium, wooden toys and a hand-painted silk dress. . If you want to see Miss Piggy get a home, admittance to the auction is $15. |
