Show Planners Support Iron Canyon Annex must agree to maintain the stream that flows through the property in its natural state and convey to the city water rights sufficient to serve the development. Additionally, Ad-ditionally, the Boyer Co. must construct two employee housing units either on or off-site and contribute $675 per unit toward the acquisition acquisi-tion of park land and $360 per unit toward park development. The Planning Commission is recommending the annexation annex-ation of the 56 acres Iron Canyon parcel located west of Rotary Park at the top of Payday Dr. The Boyer Co., a Salt Lake real estate development firm, is proposing the annexation annex-ation and intends to develop the property into a 43 lot single family subdivision. Planners gave preliminary approval for the annexation and subsequent subdivision at their regular meeting Feb. 9. The favorable recommendation recommen-dation will go to the City Council which has the authority to bring unincorporated unincor-porated property into the city limits. Before annexation, a series of public hearings will be held. The city says apparently the developer does not plan to ask the city to maintain the road system inside the "large lot" subdivision, but will set up a private maintenance fund instead.
