Show .IAE Mtiuim& top9 In William Inge's romantic comedy, "Bus Stop," Sheriff Will has his hands full when a group of feisty travelers find their bus stranded in a snowstorm 30 miles west of Kansas City. The passengers take refuge in Grace's diner, where Will comes to realize that a certain amount of law and order might be at stake before the night is out. Bo realizes that his plan to abduct Cherie with the intention of marrying her in Montana has met a major wrinkle, while at the same time Carl, the bus driver, figures that the extended layover might be his big chance with Grace. Jhe driving snow outside and the sense of being stranded inspire a feeling of intimacy among the characters, charac-ters, which ultimately convinces con-vinces the young waitress, Elma, that the drunken professor Dr. Lyman is the movie magazine hero of her dreams; Bo's companion Virgil tries to talk some sense into his partner; Carl and Grace get a chance to make good on years of flirtation and Dr. Lyman and Elma make plans to meet in Topeka. According Accor-ding to Director Jean Piatt, "There is a lesson of life for all, whether it is learned naturally or impressed upon them by Will." Jean is one of the founding members of the Intermoun-tain Intermoun-tain Actors' Ensemble, a local theater company, which has gained a reputation for small but powerful productions produc-tions including "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof," "Once Upon a Mattress" and "Wait Until Dark." Piatt has a Bachelor's Bache-lor's Degree in theater and English and a year of gradute work in costume design. Jean started a community theater in Pennsylvania when she was 15 years old, later she worked with a professional summerstock company. Piatt has been one of Park City's major supporter's suppor-ter's of community theater since its inception by the Park Players four years ago. For the Players, she stage ; directed "Mousetrap" and acted in "Romanoff and Juliet." With Jean's experience exper-ience and her spirited cast, "Bus Stop" is certain to be a successful production. "Bus Stop" opens Thursday Thurs-day night at the Park City Memorial Building. The house opens at 7:30 p.m. Curtain time is 8 p.m. Tickets are $3.50 for adults and $2.50 for senior citizens, students and children. Performances Per-formances continue each night through Saturday and continue next weekend, Thursday, Friday and Saturday Satur-day nights.
