Show 'Bus Stop' Opens Tonight In Memorial Building The Intermountain Actors' Ensemble will be opening its production of Bus Stop in the Memorial Building on Main Street on February 19. The show will run two weekends, Feb. 19-21. and Feb. 26-28. Curtain time is 8 p.m. The play, directed by Jean Piatt, is billed by the playvvrite, William Inge, as a "romance in three acts." The script revolves around the passengers of a bus stranded in a snow storm thirty miles west of Kansas City who must pass the night in a small cafe. Cherie (Leslie Luyken), a chantuesc, has been "abducted" and put on the bus by. her erstwhile lover, a young cowboy named Bo (Clayton Maw ) who plans to carry her off to Montana to marry her. The other travelers include Virgil (Cyrus Thicbcault), Bo's guardian and long time friend, and a drunken professor, Dr. Lyman (Chuck Folkerth). Grace (Robin Kaari). the owner of the diner, and Elma (Lydia Norton), a young waitress, are on hand to serve them while Will (John Lchmcr). me snenrr, is ready to keep the peace. In the course of the evening many romantic involvements in-volvements develop and dissolve. dis-solve. Carl (Spence Nelson), the bus driver, and Grace finally have an evening together to satisfy their curiosity and flirtation with one another. Plans are made for Elma and Dr. Lyman to meet in Topeka. And Bo aid Cherie discover that love cannot be forced, and really isn't the way someone imagines it to be while dreaming on a ranch in Montana or reading movie magazines. There's a lesson of life for all, whether it is learned naturally or impressed im-pressed upon them by Will, the sheriff.
