Show What is an artist Co-op? What is an artist co-op? Good question. I'm sure the question is asked by many when they hear artist co-op. The newly founded Uinta Artist Co-op vyould like to take this time to explain. Co-ops, or free schools, are set up to benefit and help all involved. They do this by creating an environment that is healthy to artists. Each artist and student involved chooses the area which interests him most, then they apply themselves to this area instead of everyone learning the same subject. This way you learn what you desire most, not what a teacher thinks you should learn. The system is maintained by the artists and the students on. a volunteer basis. The students play a big part in the co-op's function. We also hope in the future to sponsor guest artists to teach special subjects of interest. One of our first goals will be to have an exhibit featuring local Park City artists. All kinds of artists and their mediums are welcome to participate. There will be no age limit, all we require is that you be from or near Park City. The co-op realizes there ' arc many artists in Park City who have never shown their work. We would like to give them this opportunity, and also show them how to sell their work. We also hope to make Park City more interesting for other artists who want to come here. Park City has great potential in this area as an artist community. Look for our survey or drop by the co-op's office in the Memorial Building. We are located with the Recreation Department and KPCW, in the old planning commission offices. Contact our director, Steve Lloyd, for further information. Watch for our exhibit opening soon. 1 think you'll be surprised how much talent lies hidden in Park City. Help us grow, without you, we cannot.
