Show Parking Lot Rampage A parked, unattended 27,000-pound produce delivery truck got loose last Firday in the Resort parking lot, and before the truck's lone adventure was over, eleven cars sustained damages in excess of $3000. The truck, owned by Pacific Gamble and Robinson Company, was parked by its driver, Victor Uld, in the upper lot. The brakes reportedly disengaged and the truck proceeded to roll eastward over Lowell Avenue into the lower lot, picking up speed along the way. The truck first struck a Volkswagon, which in turn hit a Honda Accord, then several other cars were smashed as the large truck continued to roll. Park City Poiicy officer Joe Offret, who investigated the mishap, said there were no injuries. S80,000 Vehicle Stolen, Recovered A Ford tractor truck belonging to local resident Mickey Smith was reported stolen recently, however, the $80,000 vehicle was recovered this week. The truck was recovered in Salt Lake, and the trailor was found in Nebraska. Park City police say they have a suspect. Stopping...the Hard Way A six-car pile-up occurred last Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Park Avenue and 16th Sireet. Traffic Controlman Stan Davis stopped Naomi Sproule, driving her 2-door Chevrolet, then the chain reaction accident began with five other cars involved. Total damages to the six cars amounted to an estimated $1200. Oak Doors Disappear Four oak doors were reported stolen Monday from the Shadow Ridge Condominiums. Value of the doors was not supplied to local police. Audi, Mazda Mix-up An automobile accident causing approximately $1000 damage occurred Saturday at the 1500 block of Park Avenue. A 1980 Audi, driven by California resident Patrick Wayne Mosman, struck a 1978 Mazda which was proceeding north on Park Avenue. The Audi was reportedly stopped at a "stop" sign when it attempted to turn onto Park Avenue, striking the Mazda, driven by Charlotte Millea of Salt Lake. Mr. Mosman was cited for failing to yield at a "stop" sign. |
