Show Celebrity Pro-Am Scheduled Singer John Denver will combine com-bine business with pleasure when he hosts the Second Annual An-nual John Denver Celebrity Pro Am Ski Race at Heavenly Valley, Val-ley, Calif., Feb. 23-25. At least 20 top-name entertainers enter-tainers will be teamed with the foremost professional ski racers in the world for dual racing competition on Heavenly Valley's Val-ley's California slopes. In addition, the World Pro Skiing tour members will vie for $50,000 in prize money during downhill and slalom competition. competi-tion. We are all eager for national exposure of this fun and exciting event to. turn more families on to the sport of skiing." Pro racers from all over the world will compete in the activities, activi-ties, including Americans Hank Kashiwa and Tyler Palmer, Austrians Andre Arnold and Hans Hinterseer, Swiss Josef Odermatt and Walter Tresch, and Canadians Jim Hunter and Alain Cousineau. The downhill race, to be run on Heavenly Valley's Nevada side, is expected to be one of the most challenging downhill courses on the World Pro Skiing Ski-ing circuit. The events will be filmed by ABC Sports for a one-hour special spe-cial to be aired 3:30 EST, March 25. Most members of the World Pro Skiing tour have been in Colorado for the past week training at Copper Mountain, Lake Eldora and Aspen for the upcoming season which begins Dec. 10 with the $80,000 Bud-weiser Bud-weiser Pro Spree in Aspen. Among those attending the Aspen event will be former pro champion Henri Duvillard of France. On this occasion, however, how-ever, the retired Duvillard will be in the capacity of a coach, handing out advice to members of the Dynastar-Salomon-Tecni-ca Team.
