Show Area Deaths Joseph Olpin Prominent funeral director direc-tor Joseph Olpin, 77, Heber, died at his home Feb. 18, 1975. Mr. Olpin was the owner and operator of Olpin Mortuaries Mor-tuaries in Heber, Roosevelt and Park City. He was active in civic affairs, serving as city councilman in both Heber and Pleasant Groe. He also served as chairman of the Wasatch District, BoyScouts of America, and as a member mem-ber of the Heber Valley Fire Dept. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints, Mr. Olpin served serv-ed two missions, one in the northern states from 1916 to 1918 and the other in Texas from 1966 to 1968. He served as-bishop of both the Pleasant Plea-sant Grove First Ward and the Heber First Ward, the latter for 13 years. He also served in the Timpanogas Stake Presidency. He was a World War I veteran. A native of Pleasant Grove, Mr. Olpin was born Sept. 24, 1897, to Edwin Dee and Inez Melissa Robinson Olpin. He married Violet Larsson, Dec. 21, 1921, in the Salt Lake Temple. She survies. "Ted", Roosevelt; Roo-sevelt; Mrs. George (Ina-zelle) (Ina-zelle) Knight, Guy, both of Heber; Mrs. Bruce (Mary) Wasden, Bennion; Mrs. Kay George (Clara)Snell, Kays-ville; Kays-ville; Mrs. Richard (Audrey) Haight, Sandy; Mrs. Paul (Violet) Loertscher, Granger; Gran-ger; Mrs. Hardy (June) Anderson, An-derson, Denver; six grandchildren; grand-children; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother and four sisters: Mrs. Lacy White, Mrs. Walter (Donna) Brock, both Pleasant Grov; Mrs. Alonzo (Belle) Hansen, Mrs. May Mortensen, bothEphra-im; bothEphra-im; Roy, Fillmore. Funeral services were held Friday in the Heber First Ward chapel. Burial in the Heber City Cemetery. |
