Show We Get Letters press their support for the Drug Rehabilitation, Prevention Pre-vention and Recreation program pro-gram and to let the Board know they did not want either eith-er faction discontinued. This holds true for John Price. He is also a citizen, with personal interests. I realize real-ize he holds a position of power in the community, but that was not why he came to the meeting. The Record sees the source of the problem as a "personality conflict" between be-tween Taylor and me. Possibly Pos-sibly this is true, but if it is, it would have to be Taylor's antagonism toward me. I have NO hostile feelings toward Taylor. I feel that we both worked with a program pro-gram to the best of our abilities. I have not engaged in what the Record calls "a feud of petty differences." I have stated that Taylor and I. did not see eye to eye in many instances, but, how many people do? My iew is that, differences arise and must be dealt with openly; not with surprise moves such as firing fir-ing someone on the spot. As to the question posed by The Record, "Will the real boss please stand up!" I have stated that I recognize recog-nize Taylor as the Program Director. However, antagonisms antagon-isms could have arisenfrom the question of who has direct authority over recreational activities. This seems like a simple problem to resolve, if it's the problem? I have tried to find out, but to no avail. I feel my hands are tied at this time because I do not understand why I hae been relieved of my position, and in an attempt to find out and discuss the reasons I was turned down. I wholeheartedly agree with the Record when they plead with the direct parties concerned to settle their differences dif-ferences soon. I could not agree more strongly. But, I am in the dark. I did not instigate the present situation, sit-uation, and I have done everything in my power to bring all parties involved to an arrangement by which the program can continue. You're right We all Lose. I have yet to find the winner. Sincerely, Kathy Kocinksi Clarification Dear Editor: I would like to clarify the comments that were stated stat-ed by me in the last week's Coalition concerning the firing fir-ing of Kathy Kocinski. I feel I was misinterpreted in the sense that Taylor and I are denying each other. I agree with a lot of what Taylor says. There are somethings I do not agree with, but we are not conflicting with each other. I feel I cannot take the whole responsibility of running run-ning the Recreation Program for the past three months, but concerning building supervision, su-pervision, there have been times when Kathy was not supervising the building when the building indeed needs two people at all times. Thank you, Nancy Moore Appreciation Dear Editor: The Park City HighSchool Faculty would like to express our appreciation for your dedicated efforts in getting the Consolidation Bill killed in the Legislature and leaving leav-ing our little school intact. Your efforts in securing the defeat of this bill is certainly certain-ly a vote of confidence for our school and for us as a faculty. As Senator G. Stanford Rees said on the Senate floor, "Don't let anyone tell you that kids coming out of our small schools aren't carrying their weight ed-ucationwise." ed-ucationwise." We as a faculty have known this all along and your efforts ef-forts in the defeat of Senate Bill 85 prove that you also know it. Thanks again for your overwhelming vote of confidence con-fidence for us as a faculty. Sincerely yours, Park City High School Faculty. Signs Everywhere Dear Editor: The most individuals that are making the biggest complaints com-plaints about this fair metropolis met-ropolis of Park City do not pay one nickel in city, county or state taxes. Nine tenths of those individuals are running on expired license plates from a different state. When it comes to infractions of the law they scream the loudest. The natives of this ' town, when they violate the law, they pay it and don't scream at all. So why should the transients get away with murder and the natives pay for it? Signed: Jake Rokadoka, Meat-head, Meat-head, The Shepard, Bow Wow, The Little Digger, Big-Mouth, proper name John Bilbao. PJS. All the tourists and screaming violators cannot see. The signs are posted. How'd they get their drivers driv-ers licenses in the first place. If they- put any more signs on the poles, they'd fall down because there's so God Damned many of them. Clean Corn in en Is Dear Editor: By the same meathead, on snow removal. ; There's approximately six individuals that work 14 to 16 hours a day and the equipment equip-ment they have is not the best in the world. So when it snows these individuals, to the best of their ability, keep the streets clean. The reason they can't do a good job is because the people that I referred to before (they don't pay property tax, highway tax and cannot read the signs) park their cars where these signs, which they cannot read in the first place, say "no parking at any time." So the plows and sanders cannot do an efficient job of snow removal re-moval due to the fact that the screamers have absolutely absol-utely no respect for anything. They come here for one reason; rea-son; to ski, and they don't (Continued on Page 15) Response Made Dear Editor: I should like to address this letter to the citizens of Park City. I am sure many of you are aware of the recent re-cent controversy concerning the firing of staff member Kathy Locinski. It appears necessary that I respond to this issue publicly in an attempt at-tempt to clarify issues. I am appalled at the recent re-cent article written by the Coalition Newspaper. It was totally out of line with any legitimate news reporting. There was direct misrepresentation misrep-resentation concerning my views and those of staff member, Nancy Moore. Kathy Kocinski was fired because be-cause of reasons beyond any public awareness or personal per-sonal conflict. She was not supervising the building in-spite in-spite of being repeatedly asked to do so by the board and myself. Staff members Nancy Moore and Rick Mc-Ilwaine Mc-Ilwaine both testified to the truth of this. The Memorial Building has continually received re-ceived bad reviews concerning concern-ing supervision and as long as I am the director of this program I will not allow such a degrading image to remain re-main a reality. Our program is established establish-ed through legal contractual agreements between Park City, Summit County and the State Division of Alcoholism and Drugs. Our program is based on an integrated and cooperative effort between the drug and recreation elements. el-ements. We will hire another recreation director who is willing to combine efforts in giving you the best possible program at the Memorial Building. You will lose nothing noth-ing and gain much through this recent action. Unfortunately all legal avenues av-enues have been thus far ignored. Political games have, instead, been induced. I am prepared to meet this issue on either level and yet, my professional ethics implore im-plore me to inform you thai as the benefactors of whatever what-ever meaningful program can be established, you de- ' serve the right to know the facts as they are and not as people would have them appear. Taylor Hartman Still Looking The Park Record Park City, Utah Dear Editor: I am saddened by the fact that your newspaper chose to draw conclusions from misinformation and assumptions. assump-tions. I am referring to the editorial in last week's (Feb. 20, 1975) paper concerning the action of the Park City Recreation Board. The Record Rec-ord has vented a very biased and detrimental viewpoint of the existing situation. I would like to comment on the Record's viewpoint. The Record makes an issue is-sue of the matter that the meeting of February 11 was "originally termed closed" and that "20 people crashed the closed meeting." The facts are that I called the meeting and it was never stated whether it would be open or closed. The other fact is that as public servants; ser-vants; myself, Taylor, and the Board should be responsible respon-sible at all times to the interests, in-terests, needs, criticism and any other input from the citizenry. .These people came to the meeting to ex- We Get Letters (Continued from Page iwo) respect the person who works in the snow. Besides that if you want to tell the difference between the ski bums and the locals just look at their pathways going into their house and garages. The locals keep theirs clean and the ski bums just walk over the snow and make it a good trail for schussing. So if anybody worries about the snow removal, the ski -bums, non-taxpayers and transients, transi-ents, shouldn't because they just walk over the top of it and play in it. So for all your ski-bums, non-taxpayers, ski bunnies, drop dead. Signed: Jake Rokadoka, Meat-head, Meat-head, The Shepard, Bow Wow, The Little Digger, Big Mouth, Proper name John Bilbao. Let's Dress Up Dear Editor: By the same meathead, on business and management. They say that business is slow this year. The reason business is slow for restaurants, restaur-ants, delicatessens and catering cat-ering services is because of their ridiculous prices for absolutely nothing. They want the same prices that a first-class restaurant, tavern, tav-ern, casino or lounge charges with no floor show. In the first place the meals are good but why should a person be 35 miles away from Salt Lake, where they have nice cafes, restaurants and hotels, comparable to any place in the United States, and still the prices of steaks, crab and lobster is less than in Park City. Yet, in Salt Lake City the service is a little different. The waitresses, Maitre' D and captains are dressed in fine attire, and in Park City 99 percent of the help, the grubbies they wear are worse than the grubbies I wear and I work in the sewer. sew-er. As a matter of fact the dogs are groomed better, and they groom themselves. So the business houses should either change their minds on how the help should appear or quit complaining about business.
