In an attempt to ruck the ball over the goal line, the ball wound up in the hands of "Mucker" Skip Schirf, who ran in for another Park City try. The conversion was no good putting put-ting the "Muckers" in front 14-0. Moments before the game ended, Trent Brooks scored another try makingthe score In their lirst home game of the season, the Park City "Muckers" trounced the University Un-iversity of Utah "A" team, 20 to zip at the City Park Saturday. The early moments of the game showed the "Muckers" with a definite advantage, as their powerful defense held the "U" deep within their own territory. Finally, a lightning quick pitch out of a scrum was caught by Dave Runyan, who ran up the side line for the first Mucker try. The conversion con-version attempt was missed placing Park City out in front 4-0. The Muckers continued to dominate with their defense throughout the first half. Gradually their offensive game became more refined, as they gained more or less total ball control making the "Muckers" virtually unbeatable. un-beatable. Late in the first half, Trent Brooks ran the ball in for another "Mucker" try. This time the conversion attempt by Bill Hart was good and Park City's lead was further widened to 10-0. 18-0. The conversion attempt by Corky Foster was good and the game was won by the Muckers, 20-0. In an earlier game between be-tween the invincible "Dead Goat" and Provo, the Dead Goat played beautiful Rugby, smashing Provo 56-0. After the games, a victory party was held at the White Mule Saloon. Apart from celebrating their victory over the "U", the Muckers . also joined in celebratingthe marriage of team-mate Dave Runyan, who was married last week in the East. The party was well attended attend-ed and food and drink were found in abundance. |
