Sun Classic Picture Crews Create Cave and Log Cabin Crews from Sun Classic Pictures, who are on location in Park City for the filming of their new film, "The Adventures Ad-ventures of Frontier Fremont", Fre-mont", were busy this week transforming the auditorium of the Elks Lodge on Main Street into a sound stage. Sun's grip and set design crew consisting of 'Doc" Heavirland, Michael Sherman, Sher-man, Tony Miratti andKriv-ecek, andKriv-ecek, are in the process of building a cave interior and the inside of a log cabin. According to head grip, "Doc Heavirland, who supervised set construction for Sun's four most recent pictures, they will spend about four weeks shooting in the Elks Lodge which will produce about 20 minutes of the total length of the film. The cave interior, which is quite authentic is built in three parts to allow it to be moved. It is essentially a wood and chicken wire frame covered with muslin then sprayed with resin and painted. paint-ed. Officials of the movie company were delighted to discover the Elks Lodge. "It's perfect," says "Doc", "there is plenty of room to get the work done and the acoustics and shape of the space will make the scenes easy to shoot." The movie people are also very grateful grate-ful to the Elks for their cooperation. Most of the shooting will take place on the Bitner Ranch near 1-80 where Sun is building a fort and the cabin exterior. The film crews also plan to do some shooting near Kamas. The scenes in the Elks Lodge probably won't be shot until mid July. However, if the weather turns bad the film crews will move in and shoot in the Lodge where they are not hindered by inclement in-clement weather. All in all Sun plans to stay in Park City until the film is finished sometime around August 1. Sun Classic Pictures was on location in Park City last year for the filming "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams" which was shown at theaters around the country coun-try during the winter. |
