Show More Films The Kimball Art Center has "'" added several specially selected movies to its November film calendar. This Friday evening, Nov. 12, the Art Center has scheduled the British film, "The Sporting Life" that features a professional rugby player who has come from the coal mines in England. "It's a Park City natural," quipped Alan Crooks, Director of the Art Center. And commenting on the noticable lack of cold weather and snow that Park City has been experiencing, he added that "Whether or not Park City has any snow, we'll do our part by showing three ski films this month." "Last of the Ski Bums" and "Winter Paradise" are scheduled for Monday night, Nov. 22, at the Art Center. During the Thanksgiving weekend, week-end, the Art Center will offer the award-winning documentary film, "The Man Who Skied Down Everest." It's scheduled for Nov. 27 at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Critics have said that this film is "a Zen and sporting achievement of awesome beauty. And here, at the longest downhill run on earth, one man alone. Seconds later he is skiing in the jet stream down solid blue ice." In addition, a comic farce about a whiskey-soaked island called "Tight Little Island" has been added to the British film series on Friday evening, Nov. 26 in the Art Center. All tickets for children and adults are $2 each except for "The Man Who Skied Down Everest," which will be $2.50. |
