The First Annual Governor's Conference on Human Resource Development is being held on Nov. 11 at the Salt Lake Hilton Convention Center. This conference confer-ence sponsored by the American Society for Training and Development Develop-ment will include many speakers of local and national importance. Among those speaking will be Gov. Rampton; Bart Ludeman; national president-elect of the ASTD; Sterling W. Sill, a distinguished businessman and LDS Church leader; and Dr. T.H. Bell, Utah Commissioner of Education and former National Commissioner of Education. Many educators, business leaders, lead-ers, labor union leaders, church leaders, professionals, trade tech and college students throughout Utah are attending the conference today. Gov. Calvin Rampton previously issued a proclamation declaring today as Human Resource Re-source Development Day in Utah. According to Don Brown, Utah President of ASTD, "The purpose of the conference is to promote an awareness of human resource development in Utah."
