Show First Donut Contest Saturday This Saturday, March 8, the Corner Store located at Treasure Mountain Village, will host their first annual donut eating contest. The eat-a-thon will begin at 4:30 p.m. sharp. A measly $1.00 entry fee will be charged to partially cover the cost of the thousands of donuts which will be obviously consumed. con-sumed. According to Corner Store spokesman, Jim Doinley, lt should be a real exhibition." T-shirts, proclaiming "The first annual Corner Store Donut Eating Contest, contestant will be on sale. Mr. Doinley, already planning for future contests commented, com-mented, "When we hold our tenth annual contest in 1985 anyone with a first annual "T-Shirtvill be admitted free.' "Hell," he continued, "maybe we'll have to rent the Salt Palace for the tenth annual reunion and contest." First prize in both the ladies and non-ladies flights will receive all the donuts they can eat at the "Corner Store" for the remainder of the season. Registration for the contest will begin Wednesday morning. Because of limited space on the plaza, only the first 60 applicants will be considered. Rumor has it that the lines to Vegas have been jammed with heavy gamblers placing book on the prospective outcome out-come of the contest. |
