Show Hearing Date Set on Holliday Ranch In a special session this week, the City Council voted to schedule a public hearing, April 3, to consider GPCC's zoning proposals for Holliday Ranch. The matter had come up before the Council two weeks ago in their regular meeting, but was referred back to the Planning Commission. The Commission, in their recommendation recom-mendation to the Council with regard to the public hearing, had failed to specify exact parcels of land to be zoned and what particular zones had been proposed. The Council had no choice but to request a more specific recommenda- tion before they could go ahead with the hearing. . GPCC's proposal is a network of F-E (forest estates ) and C-R (commercial recreation) zoning. F-E zoning permits single family dwellings on a minimum min-imum lot of 7000 square feet or a maximum of six units per acre. C-R -oning permits apartment complexes, movie theaters and other recreation facilities. C-R zoning has a maximum density slightly greater than that of an F-E zone. The Planning Commission has made several changes in GPCC's original proposals. Several parcels (including the future High School site) which were originally proposed C-R have been recommended by the Commission to receive an F-E zone. GPCC spokesman, Dale Zabriskie, stated that his organization or-ganization is more than happy to go along with the changes as recommended by the Commission. The zoning of all unzoned land in Holliday Ranch has been looked upon by the Council as a matter of urgency on the advice of City Attorney Carl Nemelka. (See map page seven) |
