Show Park Miners Win Thriller By Nedra Morgan In the regional playoffs in high school basketball, the Park City Miners narrowly defeated the team from Tin-tic Tin-tic last Tuesday night with the score ending in a heart-throbbing heart-throbbing 66-65. With six seconds to play and one basket to sink, the Miner's Frank Marcellin missed a shot, only to be recovered by his team-Jpate team-Jpate pat Pirraglio who sank fcie final basket. i In Monday night action, Bhe Miners were defeated Tjy the North Summit team, 80-55. "They're a really good team," said Coach Ron Stephens. "That loss put us into the consolation side of these regionals." But with this win, the Miners Min-ers will go on to play Man ila this afternoon at 2:00 in South Summit High School gym. If they defeat the Mustangs, Mus-tangs, they will go on to play, in the State Tournament scheduled next week, beginning begin-ning March 12 and ending March 15. These games will be played at Brigham Young University. Concerning the game today, to-day, the Coach said, "We've played them twice and beat them twice. But the last game we were behind the whole time and caught up to win. We're going to have to play a good game against them," he continued. The Coach said that a strategy for the game would be determined in their practice prac-tice sessions the day prior to the game. |
