Show The Gorman Show .. Gorman's lithographs. They are expensive but would be beautiful to have at home. The rest of us are lucky to be able to see his work firsthand first-hand from now until Sept. 20 at the Kimball Art Center. byNanChalat i : There are more reasons that ever to be proud of being a westerner. ' j For that matter, Parkites 7 can oe Prud to live in a town ' whose Art Center is current- 'j ly featuring Gorman's stunning stun-ning lithographs, tapestries, sculptures and serigraphs. Gorman is nationally recognized recog-nized as the foremost Indian artist in America. His work hangs in the Metropolitan Museum in New York and in private collections owned by Erma Bombeck, Gregory Peck and A. Felix DuPont. The show at the KAC has a serene effect. The lithographs litho-graphs are large, the lines are simple and the colors are bold. The theme of the collection is cohesive which lends an elegance to the gallery. Gorman's rendering of Indian women shucking corn, tending children and gossiping, at times takes on an oriental flavor, executed with a purely Navajo flair for color and design.
