As MC Marsha Wellever comment-eel, comment-eel, the ladies were lovely and much of the talent was far and above what might have been expected from a group of young women just out of high school. The final decision must have been excruciating. The eight contestants were; : awarded points for a personal person-al interview, for an evening gown competition, - for an unrehearsed question and for a talent of their own i choosing. Suffice to say that all of the gowns were lovely and the personal interviews revealed a diversity of interests from graphic arts to computer technology. It was the talent part of the program which must have given the judges the basis for their choices; for they chose three of the most talented ladies in the State of Utah. Tree Brown, who played the lead in Park City's first community theater production, produc-tion, was awarded the title " Miss Miner's Day. Friday night, she delighted a small but enthusiastic audience with readings by Carl Sand-berg Sand-berg and James Thurber. Kelly Utley was honored as First Attendant. Her monologue, from "The Good Doctor", a collection of work by Chekov, was a high point of the evening. Kelly is destined to become a fine actress.
