Show Astros Advance To Division Championships The Park City Panthers improved im-proved on their previous week's defeat of the Park City Astros by trouncing them decisively at City Park last Wednesday by a score of 3-0 and earned a place in the quarter-finals of the Utah Junior Soccer Association knockout tournament. tour-nament. But the Rangers came charging back in the second half, tied the score, and gave faithful Panther parents unappreciated heart murmurs with several more near misses. The Panthers' Toly almost scored again in the closing minutes on a rising shot that the Rangers goalie made a spectacular specta-cular save on, and Clausen missed by inches from heading in a corner kick minutes earlier. Aside from the tournament, the Panthers have two regular season games remaining, against the Kickers Skyhawks this Saturday, and the Wasatch team the following Saturday. The Panthers, Panth-ers, however, have been playing ' so well recently that they may have a few surprises for the top teams in the tournament which will probably be completed at the end of the regular season. |
