Show Special Ed. May Get Financial Boost, Superintendent Richard Good-worth Good-worth said there was a good possibility that Park City School District will receive anywhere from $15 to SI 9,000 to be used for special education. Dr. Goodworth added he had planned to meet with the 3 Park City principals as well as special education teachers on Tuesday of this week to further discuss how the money would be used and also to prioritize students within the district to determine who would take part in the special education program. The Superintendent said that 60 students in the district will be tested in around 2 weeks in order to decide which students would participate in the program. Goodworth added it should begin in approximately 1 month. The testing period lasts 2 weeks. The tests are administered mainly to find out if a student is in need of special education, either because of learning disability or for some other reason. The special education program will be open to students in grades K-12. Dr. Goodworth said that another special ed. teacher would more than likely be hired. The special education money was received directly from the State through Federal funding. |
