Show Two New Runs Open Get ready to cook this year skiers, because Park City is going to open two new runs. According to Rick Class, resort photographer, experts ex-perts and hotdoggers will have a chance to get "smok-in' "smok-in' " on "Combustion", a new addition to the already 13 triple-chair runs. The run, classified as "most difficult", will be accessible ac-cessible from the King Consolidated Con-solidated area. Says Class, 'Combustion" was designed primarily to keep traffic from bottleneck-ing bottleneck-ing into the King Con chair area. The run will provide a new access to the bottom of the triple chair. NASTAR RUN Before this year, racers and recreation skiers had been at the mercy of each other on "Payday". This year, however, Class says, the problem will be solved by a new Nastar run being cut off of "Payday." According to Class, the run will be open to the public pub-lic at specific times during the week. It will be used primarily for racers. Hopefully, Hope-fully, he commented, 'this will give racers their own run and alleviate the traffic problem on 'Payday." The run, which is presently pres-ently unfinished, will be completed by the opening of the season. OTHER IMPROVEMENTS "Gotcha" can getcha twice as good now as it has been expanded to twice its original size. "Broadway" has been widened wid-ened to ease traffic in the bottleneck area of the King Consolidated chair. The "King Con" run was doubled in width and put in the fall line next to the trees. Hopefully the added exposure will make it easier to ski and to groom. In addition to the new runs and the improvements made on the old runs, Rick Class says that new access roads have been added to the area. These roads will make the slopes more accessable to the grooming machinery. This will enable the resort groom its slopes a little quicker and a little better. |
