Show Fire Department Busy This past week was a busy one for the Park City Volunteer Fire Dept. The siren blew three times over a two-day span. The volunteers responded with their usual speed thus preventing any major damage or personal injury. The first fire was reported Tuesday afternoon. It was a scrap pile at one of the construction sites near the resort "Village" and was rapidly extinguished. The second siren blew Wednesday afternoon. The alarm came from Silver Creek Junction. It was a reported brush fire which, again, was extinguished before any real damage was done. Early Wednesday evening the alarm blew again. The fire was at a residence on Ontario Avenue. Reportedly a section of wall board had caught fire from a nearby wood burning stove. Damage was reported as light. It's no wonder, however as the fire department rushed up Main Street only seconds after the alarm had been sounded. |
