Show Uligh School Wens Music Festival Park C: i t y High School and Chorus went to Coalville to the Band and Chorus Festival Wednesday. Wed-nesday. The Band performed three nuniliers: "Symbol of Honor", "F'ltuded Riissc" and 4 La lfina I)e Saba". The Chorus performed perform-ed two numbers: "No Man is an Island" and "Spring Time is lor Dreaming". Other schools that participat -ed were: Morgan, SnuthSumiuit, North Summit, Wasatch, Tintic, Dugway and Grantsville. Park City Band received an excellent plus (2t) and Chorus received an excellent (2). Kadi day four girls will lie taken up to the Marsac School to see how the cooks prepare the meals and also to help prepare the meals. -Chris Kuinmer. pens-Hand pens-Hand Entertains Millard High School Band entertained Park City High School last Tuesday. Millard High Band has been traveling to different high schools throughout the state performing for other schools. Millard performed many different dif-ferent numbers. Included in the concert was a flute solo and flute trio. Two numbers performed per-formed by the band were: Music-Man Music-Man and Great Gate of Kiev. Rosemary Durante. New Cheerleaders pens Park High has seven new 1973-74 Cheerleaders! F.very girl who tried out was obligated to do the splits, a cartwheel, an individual cheer and a cheer with a group. The girls who were chosen proved to have the best ability. The new Cheerleaders are: Varsitv Faye Alvey, Cobby Froelke, Debbie Got! and Valerie Val-erie Pratt. Junior Varsity-Shelly Varsity-Shelly Flinders, Andrea Teles-cii Teles-cii and Patty Prince. The girls were chosen by popular vote of the studentbody after tryouts. Congratulations! Helen Marcellin. -pens-Junior Prom Set Tomorrow night is the Big Night" for this year's Junior Class for May 4 is the date for the Junior Prom at the Capitol Rotunda. In preparation for this event, all juniors and Mr. Fred Mar-cliant, Mar-cliant, junior advisor, went to the State Capitol Rotunda last Monday to practice the entry and promenade. During the practice sessions, many visitors to the Capitol stopped to watch and to ask "What is going on'.'" One lady said the music was too loud and soon a security guard told Mr. Marchant to turn the music down as it was disturbing the Governor. NOTE: All spectators to thv Junior Prom must enter through the main entrance at the south end of the Capitol. -PCIIS- Back in School Larry Sorenson, Park High music teacher was back to school this 'week after a "lucky Friday the thirteenth appendectomy. appendec-tomy. Mr. Sorenson suffered with a lower abdominal pain all day Thursday and was taken to the Summit County Hospital Friday (13th) morning to have his appendix ap-pendix removed. He convalesced convales-ced during the Easter vacation and was back to school on the following Tuesday. John Leh-mer. Royalty Dance A Royalty dance to honor the Sophomore King and Queen was held April 18. This was the night of the Sophomore Spring Stomp. This year's King and Queen are Mark Kvans and Michelle F.vans. They were chosen by popular vote of the studentbody. Other candidates were: Willie Wil-lie Murnin, Gib Martinez and Pat Pirraligo for king; Michelle Kvans, Valerie Pratt and Maria Sweeten for queen. Helen Marcellin. Mar-cellin. pens Band Clinic Held Park City High School Band attended a band clinic held at Utah State in Logan. The band was first allowed to sit in on a UiS.U. jazz band rehearsal. After that the band was split into sections. Kach section then went to their assigned rooms where the sections were given individual help on their music by one of US.U.'s music majors. Then all of the band students met in a room where they were directed by Dr. Dean Mad-sen Mad-sen who also gave advice on things to do to make the whole band sound I letter when they play. Rosemary Durante. -PCHS- Fashion Treat Colleen Murnin represented Park City High School at a" Clothing Convention at Fashion Fabrics. Girls rep r esc nt i n g many other schools throughout the area were also in attendance. All the girls introduced themselves them-selves after which Fashion Fabrics Fab-rics gave each girl a mushroom pin to match her outfit. Then the girls were treated to a fashion fash-ion show by the Fashion Fabrics Fab-rics people. At the end of the day each girl was given material and a pattern to make herself a dress.
