Show Concerned Citizens Reach Agreement With Chevron The Concerned Citizens for a Clean Summit County (CCCSC) announced that on April 26, they and Chevron Pipeline company com-pany have reached an agreement agree-ment involving Chevron's heating heat-ing facility at Kimballs Junction. Junc-tion. The agreement also applies to the heating facility to be built at Woodland, Utah. Chevron had proposed the installation in-stallation of the heater stations to deliver heavy wax crude oil from the Uintah Basin to Salt Lake City. The stations would have used crude oil as fuel for the furnaces furn-aces and would have utilized smoke stacks over 100 feet in height. Both of these items were protested pro-tested by CCCSC. The agreement announced included in-cluded the following: the use of available natural gas to heat the crude oil, a stack of approximately approx-imately 30 feet in height at Kim- vironmental problems. CCCSC wished to thank everyone every-one who supported them both with contributions and with personal per-sonal action. A very big thank you is to be given to Curtis K. Oberhan-sley, Oberhan-sley, Salt Lake City attorney and local Park City resident, who represented CCCSC in its legal actions. CCCSC and all the citizens of Summit County thank Chevron Chev-ron Pipeline Company for reconsidering re-considering their original pro-nnsal pro-nnsal and rpalizin? thatSummit balls Junction, and the intention to not make use of any surface water and no discharge or pollution pol-lution into any such water. Both parties believe that' natural gas will result in minimum min-imum emissions for the areas involved. Chevron also stated that the use of natural gas would involve substantial cost increases but that they are willing to incur the cost in the interest of maintaining main-taining good relations and in the interest of cooperation in en- l' o County is home to many people and helping us keep it clean and beautiful. CCCSC intends to continue its community involvement.
