The Summit South Kamas and Marion Ward Bishoprics and the Stake Presidency held some special meetings and studies on the possibility of dividing the Marion and Kamas Wards. The reasons for dividing the Wards are due to the fact the Kamas Ward was getting too large, and the Marion vas too small to operate as a unit. The General Authorities also studied this proposal and sanctioned sanc-tioned the Wards to be divided and combined. Members north of the Marion Co-op would join the Oakley Ward. Members south of the Co-op to the north side of Center Street in Kamas would be the Rhoades Valley Ward, and members south of Center Street would belong to the Kamas Ward.
