Show Week of February 4 Is Dedicated to Better School Spirit at PCHS quaint girls from the other schools with each other, and a chance to know each others names. A birthday bingo game was played which gave everyone a chance to know each others names. A light refreshment was served, and then both clubs returned for the varsity game. -Brenda MacNaughtan. the week. John Lehmer. -PCHS- Because of dead school spirit in the past, the week of January Jan-uary 31-February 4 was Spirit Week. It was a very interesting interest-ing week for the students and teachers of PCHS. The various activities were planned by the cheerleaders and their advisor Miss Hassell. The outcome of the week's events were: Monday, there was a treasure hunt. The person who could gather the most treasure hunt papers from around the school won a prize. The winner was Tom Martinez. Tuesday was old fashion. Everyone was to come to school dressed in outfits from the past. Wednesday was sign day. Anyone who wanted to make a sign giving a spirit message displayed them in the halls. The winners of this contest were: Sue Marcellen for the most clever idea and Miss Hassell, Has-sell, Tammy Polychronis and Brenda MacNaughtan for the most artistic. Thursday was red day. Students Stu-dents and teachers were encouraged en-couraged to wear red to school, because red and white are the school colors. Friday was noise day. Anything Any-thing that made noise was brought to the pep assembly and each class was judged by two teachers. Mrs. Lynda Simmons and Miss Arlene Burgener were the judges. The noisiest class was the seventh grade. Brenda MacNaughtan. -PCHS-Between games February 4, the P.C.H.S. Pep Club held a tea for the South Rich Pep Club. A pep club tea is a way to ac- The marquee has finally been lighted. Utah Power and Light hooked up the new meter and power; line at the beginning of last week. The lights are turned turn-ed on by an automatic darkness dark-ness switch which is activated by the amount of light striking it. John Lehmer. -PCHS- Park High has another new student. Her name is Jackie Jackson. She attended New Port Harbor High School in California. Calif-ornia. She is a Freshman and is living in Park City. Brenda MacNaughtan. -PCHS-PCHS J.V. won their game last Friday here. Their defeat- son Hole last weekend. As a two-race two-race average time is needed to place in the final score, Mike was eliminated. Cal Florence also raced but was disqualified both days. Laurie Anderson did not race at all due to injuries received the previous week. Only 19 out of 80 racers qualified on this very tough course. John Lehmer. -PCHS- In a wrestling match held at Park High last week against Duchesne, Mike Murphy, Gib Martinez, and Mike Hansen were victorious. Kerry Gee was victorious over his Grantsville opponent at Grantsville in a match during ed opponents were the South Rich Trojans. The score was P.C. JV's 64, South Rich J.V.'s 62. The "Miners" highest scorers for that game were David Barth, 19, Greg Goff, 19, and Brian Andrus, 11.
