Council Vaits To Appoint Third Member The regular City Council meeting scheduled for February 3, 1972, was not held because of lack of quorum. Mayor William Sullivan was working the night shift and was unable to attend. Mrs. Mary Lehmer was called out of town on an emergency. Of the three councilmen re-: re-: maining, if one was nominated :( Mayor-Pro-Tem, the two re-;'. re-;'. maining councilmen fail to con -' stitute a quorum and the meet- ing was recessed. Mrs. Lehmer, feeling that the election of a City Councilman Council-man is of sufficient importance import-ance to warrant the presence of all four councilmen to vote their preference, and the presence pres-ence of the Mayor to vote in the event of a tie, requested Mayor Sullivan to hold a special meeting meet-ing for this purpose on the following Sunday afternoon, when the Mayor and all four councilmen would be in town and available. In attemptingto schedule such meeting, MayorSullivan was informed in-formed by Councilman Robert Burns that he could not attend as he would be working Ski Patrol on Sunday. His absence would permit a coalition by two of the three councilmen, to render the third councilman's vote useless. I It appears therefore, that the election of the fifth councilman is stalemated until such time that the entire council, including includ-ing MayorSullivan, can be present pres-ent to vote on this important issue.
