Show I REVEREND ALOYSIUS FARRELL Spiritual Renewal Series Set at SI. Mary's Catholic Church idea of what happiness really is, or they have been convinced con-vinced by others that happiness hap-piness is an impossible goal. Such people settle for false programs that can only break their hearts eventually. They foolishly keep trying to believe be-lieve that they can obtain happiness from materialism, material-ism, paganism, lawless sex, excessive alcohol, drugs, political solutions, ceaseless cease-less sports activities, or unending un-ending entertainment. But deep inside them there is always the nagging question, ques-tion, Ms this all there is?" As long as such people pursue false gods, the missionary mis-sionary says, they can never know the joy that comes from accepting the program of the true God. Each night's service will consist of Mass, a major sermon, singing, and opportunity op-portunity for confessions. The public is welcome at all services. The Rev. Martin McNicholas, McNich-olas, pastor of St. Mary's Church, has announced that a mission of spiritual renewal re-newal will be held there from Sunday, July 7, to Friday, July 12 with the main service each evening at 7:30. The missionary in charge will be Rev. Aloysius Far-rell, Far-rell, director of Paulist Fathers parish missions in 10 states of the Rocky Mountain Moun-tain region. He has specialized exclusively exclus-ively in spiritual renewal, preaching for 25 years in every section of the continental con-tinental United States and in eastern Canada. The purpose of this special spec-ial series is to help everyone every-one become a better Christian Chris-tian in his thinking, in his feelings and attitudes, and in. his daily life. The theme of the mission will be "The Way to Happiness." Some are not really happy, the missionary says, be cause they have a problem. It may be guilt, sin, misunderstanding, mis-understanding, lack of information, in-formation, bitterness, hostility, hos-tility, not enough motivation, hopelessness, or dozens of other difficulties. The mission mis-sion is intended to deal with these negative situations; to help people overcome their difficulties and to make the most of their handicaps. Many people are not nappy, the missionary says, simply because they have the wrong. |
