Show if this element were allowed allow-ed to drive a president from office, they feel no president should lie abused this way. They are sick and weary of Watergate, and would like to see the house and senate get on with constructive problems of our country. These millions support our president and would like to see him treated fairly and justly. We feel we are in good company but most of these people, the (silent majority) will not lie heard from. Every American should- lie grateful to Pres. Nixon and Dr. Kissinger that T.00,000 of our boys are home from Vietnam. Every American should be grateful to them both that our prisoners were brought home with honor. After all Pres. Nixon inherited in-herited the war. Every man should be grateful to. the president and past sect, of Defense Melvin Laird for ending the draft so these young men can plan for the future. Some people have very short memories. The president has opened the doors to China, whom for 25 years we thought was our enemy, but want to be our friends, established better relations with Russia. He and Kissinger have brought peace to Israel and the Arab states. The Arabs who have been hostile to our country for 25 years now look to us as friends. They look to Pres. Nixon and Kissinger as great leaders and friends, they can trust and respect. These are not small accomplishments accom-plishments and they have both worked hard to bring this about and should have equal credit. Then the liberals and radicals rad-icals demonstrators started full force. They stand on the street corners in such cities as Los Angeles with placards impeach! resign! and solicit ; names to send to Congress, they come to Washington, D.C. to join the anti's to be in on the kill their aim is to take over the government. govern-ment. The Anti-Nixon newspapers news-papers such as. the Washington Wash-ington Post, New York Times Los Angeles Times, The Times, Newsweek and other news media start their liar-age liar-age of propaganda, and of course they have plenty of ical, they were wrong again. Who is hollering loud about the president's peace mission mis-sion to the Middle East and predicting doom purely political again. The president has -a special skill in foreign affairs and the UJS. is respected more today, and our relations are better than they have been for many years. Now they are after Kissinger, a brilliant American and a great patriot, pat-riot, they would like to discredit dis-credit him. Likewise the president is not given any credit for his accomplishment accomplish-ment in the domestic program pro-gram and the list is long. They yell controls, controls! (which the president has always al-ways been opposed to). He is forced to put them on and they don't work then lie gets blamed for it. They blame him for the very tilings they create themselves. Some of the congressmen -and senators sen-ators who are taking jaunts abroad with their relatives and friends at the taxpayers expense yell the loudest about Nixon. They voted themselves lush benefits and an increase in their expenses and for it not to be made public, and not one of them would allow their private papers to lie made public. It hurts them to know that millions and millions of people in the Middle East and Russia look upon Pres. Nixon as a great leader and their only hope for peace. He is the most popular world figure in Russia today and would receive the same jub-ilent jub-ilent ovation and reception in Russia as he did in the Arab states and Israel. There are millions and millions mil-lions of Americans who care about their country and what it would do to our country wash the public turn them against the president. They do not want to remember that the presidental election was stolen from Nixon in 1960 by fraud (stuffed ballot boxes in four of our largest states) nothing much was said about it, let alone done about it but it was an actual fact. Nixon did not want to lie president bad enough to cause a constitutional crisis. They seem to forget these political tactics they are making so much about have been part of our political system sy-stem for 40 years. They would lead us to lielieve Watergate is thecrimeof the century. How many of them that holler about Watergate can actually tell you what it is about those Cubans didn't even take a pencil. Pres. Nixon's doctor's office was broken into twice, papers photographed, and strewn about, but that was hardly m e n t i o ne d but Daniels' El Is berg's psychiatrist that's d i f f e r e n t Ellsberg, no less a traitor, who stole Pentagon papers leaked them to the newspapers, and even to Russia, is set free and made a hero. When negotiations negotia-tions were taking place for our prisoners, some of these left wing liberals went to Hanoi to undercut the negotiations, neg-otiations, abetting the enemy appeared on Hanoi stations, broadcasting against our country. Now one of thei.i is running for a senate seat and the left wing may elect him Ramsey Clark, attorney attor-ney general, under the previous pre-vious administration. At a time when negotiations were at a stand still and Hanoi wouldn't budge who clammorert for the nrec- ident's scalp when he had Hanoi bombed and Haipong harbor mined which brought the enemy to the peace table and the release of our prisoners. We should be proud and thankful we had a president who had the courage cour-age to do these things under such opposition and attacks, instead of takingtheeasy way out "to pull out and run." Yes McGovern could still be begging on his knees for the prisoners. The public turned turn-ed against Abraham Lincoln one of our greatest, in his darkest hour. He didn't quit when the going got rough. followers. Last fall the president and energy chief Simon told us again and again, we don't want to, and won't have to ration gas, if the American people will conserve and who was hollering their heads off and wanted to ration it right then, or it would be disastrous for the country-one country-one or two of them wants to be president purely polit- Nixon Defended Kamas, Utah June 15, 1974 Dear Mac: On June 13th you published a most poisonous, malicious letter from the so called "charming lady" about Pres. Nixon. Trying to destroy a president who has already accomplished more than most presidents and will continue to accomplish great things if they will just leave him alone and let him run the country. They are all too anxious to jump on the band wagon. Some of the news media would rather make something big out of Watergate, Water-gate, pick away, report bias news, slanted opinions, false accusations, some rumor spread all over front pages of a big newspaper brain |
