Show Cliif-Chal by Bea Mrs. Elaine Wardell is a patient in the Wasatch County Hospital after undergoing a major operation on Wednesday afternoon. At this writing she is as well as can be expected. Mrs. Earl Bird had the misfortune mis-fortune to fall a week ago breaking break-ing her wrist. She is nowcarry-ing nowcarry-ing an uncomfortable cast to her elbow. I had a very interesting visitor this week, Dennis Gin of Berkeley, Calif. Dennis is the son of Wayne Gin, son of Gin Ping, who lived here for many years. The Gin family had 12 children. This was a well knowji family who lived in Chinatown until the early 40's when circumstances and work caused the family to leave here. The family had the Bamboo Gardens in Salt Lake for quite a number of years and it was a popular place for the people of Park City whenever they went to the city. It was located across the street from Sears. Gin Ping passed away inSep-tember, inSep-tember, 1970, and now the family is spread out, some still in the Salt Lake area, some in the San Francisco area and Wayne , is in Africa. It is interesting to talk to the members of this family as they are finding their way back one by one to see the home of their forefathers. Dennis is an interesting, inter-esting, fine young man and was so happy to find so many people who knew his family and talked to some, such as Fraser Buck, Ken Webb and Bob Beall and several others during his stay here. |
