revolutionary fathers one can but be deeply impressed with the lesson w aich they teace anew of the influence of life how far can you make your life work felt how far can you throw th influence of your life ask the man of 76 the influence of unselfish fidelity to duty can never be calculated cu it abounds beyond all measure it runs on and on and on still aure with increased flow the stream of influence which they started flows on it continues to broaden and widen and deepen it receives new edw tribu tributaries tributa farles ries its flag gathers new stars and stripes and reaches out beyond the seas how afar far can I 1 throw my lifes influence god alone can measure it if it is the right kind of life let no pessimist say that 11 our life has hag none of their great opportunities for theirs was the opportunity of character and conviction and this may bo be ours today it if adams and Hamil hamilton toll and jefferson and washington lived today they would find hanew anew ample field for their effort the great man ever finds a need and task commensurate with his ability the more yo you u develop your talent tho the greater will be the field which calls for that talent I 1 when we think of their age we think of the men it produced that was a man producing ag age when we think ot of our age are wo we not prone to think of its commerce and material achievement not that our age is lacking in men for as coming generations view our day they will doubtless find in it many names of great worth but tho the trend of today is to train values and not to train them thein first of all ail to bo be of I 1 value to thear e ives we have placed I 1 that which we lave have and that thal which wo we I 1 can do above that which wo we are we never neier read this great declaration of Inde independence pende nce but what hat we see in it the sign of a greater one they declare the freedom of all from physical thrall drom it is the breaking of the fetters of sin As you read this declaration which hey ahey signed do you not yearn for the r opportunity to be freed t from the despotism of habit and sin and evil 1 christ came lived and died that sins fetters might be broken oh if america ameria today would only go on to overcome error and evil as they did to ove overcome come what an age this would be As one thinks of their work and Us results one bays anew Is it always righetto right to do rig right kit it may bo be hard to do right it may dvolve suffering it may cost much but it Is right we need this message today many acquiesce and give way to wrong or trim down what they know Is right until it fits the environment these men of 76 stood and fought and endured for what they knew was right let us its learn of tho the today let us listen to them let us commune with these great spirits of the past they speak of the great influence of every earnest life they jhc thc y tell us that our first va luelies value lies in what we are they call us to advance in freedom and wage war against the despotism of sin they proclaim the righteousness of right cost what it muy may are you ready to heed the mes message sag there are many problems which today call for solution but they will ne never ver be settled until wo we grapple them in fil an unselfish fisli way tho the good of 0 america and the goi god of all her people mu must st be lifted above your continue to bless and help who when n we are no more Wha words spoken what deeds doup don what influence start ed what lives lifted there Is an immortality morta ailt of the soul and there Is an
