Huthcins of the University Univer-sity of Michigan, in addressing tho summer students yesterday, told them, that In general a college course was worth while, but enumerated certain circumstances under which he considered con-sidered it not worth while. The speaker maintained that the college course, If worth while bhould be an extensive one, demanding the exercise of the students' best powers, but, he said: "A college course Is not worth while in this age of activity and original thinking, in this age of great achievements achieve-ments and great opportunities. If It makes of a man a mere slave to the learning of others." |
