Show AVIATION TOURNAMENT TRAIN REACHES BALTIMORE Baltimore. Nov. 2. Coming direct from the International Aviation tournament tour-nament at eBlmont Park, a special train of seven cars, bearing the aeroplanes aero-planes which are to begin flights at Baltimore's first aviation meet, ar- rhed here this morning and proceeded direct to Hale Thorpe field, where all Is ready for tire contests. The expressmen's strike in New York was responsible for a long delay de-lay In getting the machines away from the Loug Island field. So many were the difficulties encountered that It was feared here at one time that tho opening, al 10,30 o'clock this morning, morn-ing, would have to bo postponed. Weather conditions were excellent erirly In the day. Seven of the world s leading aviators are under contract to fly here. They are: Count Do Lcssops, Hubert Latham, Fiance; James Radley, of England, 'and J. Armstrong Drexel, Clifford B. Harmon. Charles " Willard and Eugene Ely of this country. Thev will compete for purses totaling total-ing $50,000. |
