Show SKUNKS FOR THE BIG FAIR Dr. If. TI. Rowe. president of the Four-Stale Fair, has received an application ap-plication from Almon E. Kl'obo. May-vllle. May-vllle. N. Y , desiring to enter skunks at the Four-State Fair Dr. Rowe eat In his chair and looked at the letter with gla.ssy eyes, and finally wrote upon the corner, "Referred to the Hon. William Glasmann, supervisor supervis-or of the Poultry and Pet Department." Depart-ment." Mr. Almon E. Klbbe says that th skunk furnishes from I.O.iO.OOO to 0,-fM0,(ii.i() 0,-fM0,(ii.i() skins each year for the London Lon-don market alone and for 50 cents he offers to send a little booklet gtvlna a complete description of these valuable valu-able animals together with their habits, hab-its, how to capture them and care for them in confinement, how to feed them and how to treat them in order to remove from them the objectionable objection-able odor. The skunks, that will be placed on exhibition, Mr. Klbbe say?, will be absolutely free from any objectionable ob-jectionable odor whatever. Not. as much odor will be present as will be found from the exhibit of an ordinary dog. Mr. Glasmann returned the com municatlon of Mr. Klbbe to the president presi-dent of the Four-State Fair with the information that the skunk '"Is not a pet within the meaning of the bylaws by-laws of the Four-State Fair." Just what will be done with the skunk exhibit from New York, remains re-mains to be seen. At any rate, ihe above indicates that some of Dr Rowe's advertising has fallen into good hands. |
