Show SALE OF MORNING EXAMINER. The Morning Examiner, which is now being published by the management of the Standard, as a result of the failure of the late publishers, is for sale. Bids for the paper will be kept open until August 10. The object in offering the morning paper" for sale is to give others an opportunity to have a voice in this community other than that of the Standard. There is no disposition on the part of the management of this paper to monopolize the local newspaper - field, but there is a strong desire to see a morning paper continue publication in this city. The business men should get back of some responsible and energetic ener-getic fellow and make possible the issuing each morning of a strong and fearless newspaper. If those interested do not wish to purchase the paper, then a lease on liberal terms can be secured. The late publishers paid only . $50 a month for their lease. Surely that was not excessive. If no one else seeks to publish the morning paper, then it will continue to be issued under the Standard management, as its franchise fran-chise and other acquired rights are too valuable to be forfeited. The Examiner has been issued for eight years and has become recognised in all Eastern advertising quarters. The subscription list, built up during the past eight years, is a valuable asset and could not be duplicated without an expenditure even greater than has been called for by the Examiner. No reasonable offer from a financially responsible party will be refused. |
