Show TROOPS ARE DEFEATED Mexican Regulars Killed or Captured by the Insurgents El Paso. Tex , Dpc. 1. The follow-Jncr follow-Jncr dispatch, dated yesterday, was received re-ceived this ruorning from the Associated Asso-ciated Pres9 staff correspondent at Chihuahua City: "A serious clash at Padernalles, SO miles west of hero, took place yesterday yes-terday between 150 government troops and a somewhat larger body of insurgents. in-surgents. The soldiers are said to have been fired upon from roofs and windows, while marching through the streets of the town. "Passengers arriving by train tonight to-night declare that those of the gov-' gov-' crnment force who were not killed or wounded were taken prisoner. These rumors are also current among the soldiers at the barracks. But General Plata, Ln command of the military mil-itary zone, stated that his report showeJ nine government soldiers killed and that twenty-seven Insurants Insur-ants were slain." Sonora, hitherto quiet, Is reported to be the rendezvous rendez-vous of a number of bands of revolutionists, revolu-tionists, who are organizing In the mountains.
